Privacy notice

This notice explains what information Revisly handles, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Who we are

Revisly is an early-access study service for practising answers on real papers and receiving contextual feedback. For privacy questions or requests, email jyoush@revisly.uk.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Revisly, we may handle:

  • contact and account details, including your email address;
  • early-access preferences, such as exam stage and answer style;
  • study content you provide, including papers, mark schemes, answers, annotations, feedback, and related workspace records;
  • service and security information, such as session records, error reports, device information, and basic request logs; and
  • messages you send when asking for support or exercising a right.

Please avoid uploading personal information about other people or any sensitive information that is not needed for your study task.

How and why we use information

We use personal data to:

  • provide accounts, uploads, workspaces, feedback, and support;
  • manage the early-access list and send requested service messages;
  • secure, troubleshoot, and improve Revisly;
  • prevent misuse and protect users and the service; and
  • meet legal, regulatory, and accounting obligations.

Where data-protection law applies, our legal basis may be performance of a contract or steps you ask us to take, consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, or compliance with a legal obligation. The basis depends on the activity and your location.

Who receives information

We may use service providers for authentication, hosting, private file storage, email delivery, operational notifications, analytics, and AI processing. Current services can include Supabase, Resend, a private staff Discord channel for early-access notifications, local Ollama models, and configured hosted AI providers such as OpenRouter.

We only share information needed for the relevant service. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, authorities, or another organisation where required by law or as part of a legitimate business reorganisation. Revisly does not sell personal data.

AI-assisted features

Revisly may use AI to detect question structure, suggest marks, explain feedback, and support tutoring. Outputs are advisory and may be wrong. Revisly does not use these features to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

How long we keep information

Early-access signup records are scheduled for deletion after 12 months. Account and study records are generally kept while your account is active or while needed to provide the service. Security, support, and operational records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose, legal obligations, and dispute handling. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.

International processing

Some providers may process information outside your country. Where the law requires it, we use an approved transfer mechanism or other appropriate safeguards. Contact us if you want more information about safeguards relevant to your data.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data, including owner-scoped access controls and private document storage. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so keep account credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location and the legal basis used, you may be able to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent. This does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Email jyoush@revisly.uk to make a request. You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work, or where you believe a breach occurred.

Students and younger users

If local law requires permission from a parent, guardian, school, or other responsible adult before you provide personal data, obtain that permission before using Revisly. A responsible adult can contact us to ask about or request deletion of a younger user's information.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as Revisly changes. We will post the revised version here and change the date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will provide additional notice where required.
